The 10th edition of Luftgekühlt proved to be the best yet

Every car on display was positioned with artistic obsession, like we witnessed at Luft 9 just a year ago, this time with a juxtapositions of air-cooled Porsches of note in the Universal Studios setting in Los Angeles. Luftgekühlt truly made its name in 2019 with its first outing at this same setting, and the return was just as special. On display were an endless arrays of colors and shapes from the Porsche catalog, ranging from historic cars to the latest and greatest from Stuttgart. There were significant older model showcases, in the style of The Quail during Car Week.

Luft celebrated a tremendous success in its tenth outing with artistically curated cars attracting thousands of enthusiasts, who immersed themselves in the celebration of 50 years of the Porsche Turbo. There was no shortage of discoverable experiences and aching feet. From the galleries created in the exhibition halls, to the off-road and rallye machines in their own arena, the Broad Arrow Auction section, and a sold-out exhibit hall featuring companies catering to the Porsche enthusiast, there was something for everybody at Luft 10.

Also featured were Porsches in the Europe section of Universal Studios, custom restored builders in Park Plaza, and a barn full of vintage finds. The display cars even stretched across several expansive lots as the event provided an unforgettable day for Porsche fans.

In addition to spectacles such as Porsche’s Le Mans 917K car, sportscar championship winners, and Pikes Peak entrants, visitors were able to meet VIPs including the show organizers and decorated racers Patrick Long and Jeff Zwart, plus Porsche Factory racers, among others.

The weekend was sold out on Saturday, and the setting was buzzing with the presence of fans, notable figures from Porsche’s racing history, and artists of various formats. Here are a few images in a bid to do justice to the selection of experiences from the event.

A few of the highlights included: A Moment of Loudness with the Porsche 917K inside Soundstage 34, curated exhibits from leading sponsors including Bilstein, Broad Arrow, Gunther Werks, Hagerty, Kinecta, Kinesis, Meguiar’s, Mobil 1, Pirelli, Porsche Classic, Singer, Tag Heuer and more.
